Haylands is registered for 40 children between the ages of 2 years and 6 months and 5 years for Preschool sessions.
We also offer Breakfast and After-School Clubs for 2 years and 6 months to 11 years.

Haylands Pre-school has been operating for over 50 years on Portland and we are very proud of our school and all the local children that have come to our setting.
Our staff are fully qualified and the school is OFSTED inspected and part of the Nursery Education Funding Scheme.
Haylands is a Rights Respecting School (RRS).
Our Preschool has a close relationship and links with St. George's Primary School.
We offer good quality child-care and early education by providing learning experiences in a safe, caring and friendly environment.
The setting offers a variety of balanced, stimulating activities to help develop your child's individual skills and encourage social integration.
We have a team of experienced, dedicated staff who have created a special environment for Pre-school children.
All staff are DBS checked, Safeguarding and PED First Aid trained and partake in regular training to further their professional development.
Allocated Staff Roles
HAYLANDS Preschool is a Registered Charity and is run by a Parent Committee and Management team.
All of our committee members and staff are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked prior to commencing work with and in the Preschool setting.

At Haylands we offer a nurturing environment full of fun, creativity and stimulation which will inspire all of our children helping them to thrive and learn and prepare them for transition to primary school.
Haylands will provide well-planned, purposeful activities and appropriate interventions that will engage children in the learning process and help them make progress in their learning.
Haylands is an inclusive setting in which each child will have equal opportunity and we will provide a valuable step between home and primary school, working closely with parents and carers to support their child's unique development.

We accept 2 Year funding for eligible children.
Some families are eligible for 30 hours funding. You can check eligibility at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk funding options.
We can accept children for the full 30 hours per week.
